Wholly Undeserving, Eternally Grateful

i am mostly happy 

i am mostly hopeful 

i mostly dance with joy 

leading mostly with love and light 

but i too 

have my desert moments 

i am infinitely weak 

but i have someone who is eternally strong 

i am human to a fault 

i stumble 

and i sometimes fall 

but i always get back up 

though never by my own strength 

my white knuckles cling to a hand daily 

a gracious, pierced, powerful, 

undeserved hand 

the hand of a loving Father 

a Savior who continually picks me up 

without faltering 

without changing 

without leaving 

and i 

wholly undeserving 

eternally grateful 

find myself back on my feet 

with the Prince of Peace, 

before me and behind me
